Beauty Bible POSTS
Donโt know about you but for us the countdown to the festive season is whizzing by at warp speed. Weโve hardly caught up with autumn and then golly gosh! weโre seeing enchanting (well, mostlyโฆ) street decorations all over, waking to the first frosts (thatโs Sarah in the south west of England), realising we need lots more wrapping paper and stirring up fruit cake.
Joโs been out and about gathering a wonderful selection of presents so do look at all the gorgeous options sheโs found in the Beauty Bible Gift Guides 2025, with stocking fillers and some a bit more spenny at ยฃ15 to ยฃ25. All things we would like ourselves pretty please, and will be giving to our nearest and dearest. And thereโs still just time to order Advent Calendars for special people; Sarah has delivered the Latest in Beauty cornucopia to her sister in law, and is about to distribute a couple of William Morris At Home Beauty Advent Calendars (alas sold out most places, but you MIGHT be lucky!)
And weโre hopeful that before Rudolf the red-nosed reindeer jingles his bells for the holiday, our new Beauty Bible will be at the final staging post with the proof reader! Yay! (Just to warn you that doesnโt mean it will be on the shelves for a few months yet thoughโฆ)
As usual, you can find all the latest news on this website โ sharing with you a daily Beauty Bible Loves, here, a Fab Find of the Week every Monday here, plus our Weekend Steal here.
Donโt forget to enter our fantastic Prize draws โ for products that we really really want ourselves โ they are completely free to enter but, as we always say, you canโt win if you donโt enterโฆ
Check out Sarahโs Health Notes or waft over to Joโs Scent Notes, in which she shares her scent finds and loves.
And of course, whenever you are beauty buying, please donโt forget to check in with our Beauty Bible Awards when youโre shopping for SKINCARE, BODYCARE, HAIRCARE, MAKE-UP, SUNCARE and TOOLS & DEVICES โ our testers have given their verdicts, and we remain confident that these Awards really do offer a short-cut to products that truly work.
Remember: you can keep in touch with us via the CONTACT button at the top of the page, or click here. We always love hearing from you. Let us know your beauty โfindsโ and concerns (including health ones) โ if we can help we will.
Have a wonderful autumn
With love,
If you're someone who meditates but you know you have a tricky week ahead โ a packed schedule, travelling for work and/or staying in a hotel with noisy neighbours โ pre-plan for failure. Happiness expert Gretchen Rubin recmmends that you anticipate as many challenges as you can and specifically think about what you'll do and say to overcome them. (For instance, a walking meditation in a nearby park, rather than trying to zone out the person in the neighbouring hotel room who's got breakfast TV on too loud...)
During these cold months, chest rub can come into its own, but hereโs an alternative use: use it to soothe aching feet. Try applying a thick coat of chest rub and covering feet with a pair of socks before going to bed at night. When you wake up, sore tired feet will be both moisturised and rejuvenated.
The kindest thing you can do during an at-home manicure or pedicure is to apply cuticle cream to nails or feet first, then soak them in water for five minutes before pushing back cuticles with a rubber hoof stick. This creates the perfect โframeโ for your brushwork.
Freshen up combs and hairbrushes by soaking them in a solution of 600 ml warm water and two teaspoons of bicarbonate of soda. Swirl them around in the water to loosen up all the debris caught between the teeth, then let them soak for about half an hour. Rinse well and dry flat on a towel before using.
We love this quote from our old friend Eve Lom: โTrue beauty comes from feeding your mind, as well as your skin.โ
