Beauty Bible Loves... By Terry Tea to Tan Golden Glow

File under: absolute flipping godsend.

Working on the next edition of On The Scent magazine, Jo has basically felt like she’s been in a burrow for the past couple of weeks. How to tackle the pallor that comes with that territory? This brilliant By Terry Tea to Tan Golden Glow (sub-title: Serum Illuminator Aqua-Bronzer).

Basically, the brilliant Terry de Gunzburg, founder of By Terry, has taken its iconic Tea to Tan and turned the radiance up a notch with the new lightweight serum.

With moisture-attracting humectants and ‘film formers’ that help the bronzing pigments glide on and set without feeling heavy, the colour and glow comes from finely milled, skin‑tone‑friendly iron oxides and subtle pearlescent particles, which are suspended in the bi‑phase liquid.

Think sunshine, bottled and beautifully sheer. To awaken, you shake this featherlight, bi-phase formula, then sweep on for an instant just-back-from-holibobs effect. Result? A tea‑tinted, luminosity‑without-disco-glitter finish.

Applied over moisturiser (with SPF, please), it’s comfy – and there are no streaks, no tell-tale tidemarks, just a rather believable ‘I’ve slept properly and spent the weekend outdoors’ warmth.

Skin deffo still looks like skin – only better, smoother and more even. Layer it for a deeper glow, or mix a drop into your usual base to de-beige your foundation wardrobe.

At a time of year when pale really isn’t interesting, it’s an instant glow-getting makeover-in-a-bottle. And as ever, we give thanks to Ms. Gunzburg for her genius.
