Beauty Bible Loves... Odile Paris Glow Elixir
We don’t use the word lightly but this truly is a ‘miracle’ serum in our experience. We tried it with no big expectations, but WOW!! We were blown away by the instant effects: glow definitely – bags of it, but also softer, smoother, plumper skin which seemed almost slightly lifted.
Formulated by Paris-based A-lister facialist Odile Lecoin, known as a ‘clean beauty’ pioneer, the Elixir features a potent cocktail of more than 90% natural ingredients, with none of the additives we’d rather not see (petrochemicals, artificial colours/perfume, harsh preservatives, mineral oils). It’s also vegan and cruelty-free.
Exploring the ingredients we found a sophisticated formulation of science-backed naturals. There’s a complex of botanicals, led by acacia gum and rhibozian, that do set out to create an immediate lifting effect, supported by firming white lupin, red marine algae and chicory root with a biomimetic silk peptide.
The smoothing and plumping action is down to niacinamide (vitamin B3), with PCA (a humectant), lactate and urea, plus protective vitamin E. And the glow factor? The secret is an Ayurvedic trio of wild indigo, turmeric and fragrant neroli.
It’s designed to be stroked on and tapped in morning and night, before moisturisers. The website gives a lymphatic drainage technique but Sarah’s been using it with her regular morning gua sha routine, which works a treat.
The effects were immediate from the first time we tried it but the brand’s own trial of 22 users promise cumulative effects from 21 days. We’re on a week now and already dedicated users.
No denying it’s a real investment at that hefty price but if your beauty piggy bank is feeling flush, it’s absolutely worth shelling out, we’d say.
At the moment, Odile Paris is working on new skincare products for next year. Watch this space.
