Fab Find of the Week: Cornish Seaweed Bath Company haircare

These are shining stars. They truly are. Have to say, the Cornish Seaweed Bath Company hadn’t floated onto our radar until recently, but now we’re absolute converts to the haircare (and looking to try some of the other all-naturally-derived goodies in the range).

It has to be said that natural haircare hasn’t always pushed our buttons – but these three products put on a performance that rivals anything out there. Not cheap – but then nowadays, a lot of haircare isn’t. This brand really has a bracing coastal vibe to their haircare, with a zingy, wake-you-up fragrance that focuses around mint leaf, frankincense and angelica.

The Supernutrient Shampoo, which has an almost jelly-like texture (that’s the seaweed) is SLS-free (so, non-irritating to our notoriously touchy scalps). It doesn’t massively froth or bubble, yet gets hair perfectly clean and prepped for either the lighter-weight Supernutrient Conditioner or the lusciously lovely Deep Conditioning Hair Mask, which we love, love, love.

Using the mask, hair is left feeling smooth yet somehow strengthened; you can massage it into ends, or we’ve been using it on roots without weighing hair down, despite the rich nourishment offered. (Thanks to a blend of fucus serratus extract, argan, oat and glycerine, among other botanicals.) The hair mask has a different fragrance, by the way, with rose geranium, cedarwood, sandalwood and chamomile.

We’d suggest swinging for the Deep Conditioning Haircare Set, which at time of press offers a saving of £40+ and includes the shampoo, conditioner and hair mask.

All made in West Cornwall, it’s packaged in recyclable aluminium – which you might not guess from the cheerful seaside stripes on the packaging, but is another plus, for us.

All round? We’re pretty blown away. (And that’s not the gusting Cornish wind, doing that.)
