Beauty Bible Loves... Estée Lauder DayWear Multi-Protection Antioxidant Sheer Tint Release Moisturser SPF15

We absolutely remember, with crystal clarity, first discovering Estée Lauder DayWear Multi-Protection Antioxidant Sheer Tint Release Moisturser SPF15. It was presented to us by the then-resident skincare guru, Dr. Daniel Maës, who was our go-to for cosmetic science and complexion health insights for many years, as he presided over Lauder’s labs.

The clever, clever thing about this product, which wowed us at the time – and still does, now – is the way it morphs on skin from a sort of blue-grey cream to… your perfect skin colour, via clever colour-adaptive technology that works on a wide range of skintones. Covering, but not concealing. Evening everything out a bit, so that it just looks more flawless, while most definitely not being mask-like – something we try to avoid in summer, for sure.

We do slightly wish this reformulated version had a slightly higher SPF – because in our considered opinion, it’s not high enough for summer (and certainly not for the heatwave we recently experienced). But our advice is to ignore its SPF15 and simply layer it over your regular daily SPF. It’ll add extra moisture and tint (but won’t actually boost the SPF number because we’ve always been told that it doesn’t quite work like that; we’re not quite sure why not, but there you go). If you’ve an oily complexion, simply opt for a matte sunscreen, and apply this over the top.

Truly, this is a modern skincare classic that really ought to be trumpeted by Lauder from their Soho HQ rooftops. It still delivers the fresh-faced, believable glow that we fell in love with all those years ago – so just pair with an elevated SPF and enjoy a flattering, better-skin finish.
