Fab Find of the Week: Aromatherapy Associates Desert Therapy range
Gosh. Aromatherapy Associates have been part of the Beauty Bible story for so long that we can almost conjure the distinctive, transporting aroma of their Bath & Shower Oils from memory alone.
Over the years, this British wellbeing pioneer has repeatedly demonstrated that a few precious capfuls can transform a routine soak – or even the speediest of showers – into something deeply restorative, wowing our Beauty Bible testers repeatedly.
So, we were thrilled to discover Desert Therapy, the brand’s first entirely new blend in seven years. It is a significant addition – and definitely a more unusual olfactory landscape than the familiar herbaceous, floral and forest-y Aromatherapy Associates signature scents that so many of us know and love.
Inspired by the stillness, resilience and the elemental beauty of the desert, Desert Therapy is apparently centred on a generous, complex accord of some 50 – yes, 50! – essential oils.
There’s frankincense, for a meditative vibe. Sandalwood and cedarwood bring a dry-wood warmth that feels very comforting; while rose and orange introduce luminosity. Oudh adds richness and mystery – and the result is not a literal desert fragrance (thankfully no hot-dust overload!), but a beautifully rounded, ambered aromatic.
It feels recognisably Aromatherapy Associates but also quite contemporary – expertly blended, as ever, made for moments when pausing is not an indulgence, but a downright necessity!`
As you can see above, the range is made up of Desert Therapy Bath & Shower Oil, Body Oil and Pure Essential Oil Blend (ideal for using in their beautiful atomiser) – so you can choose your own level of immersion. We would as usual begin with the Bath & Shower Oil – the format we’ve always loved —then layer the body oil afterwards, particularly when skin is parched.
New aromatic territory, for sure – but one we’ve been very happy to explore.
