Beauty Bible Loves... Meadow Farm Lifestyle Star Magnolia candles

We are fresh from the excitement of the Barnes Fragrance Fair – a wonderful highlight in the perfume calendar, attended by fragrance-lovers from all over the UK (and even a few from the US, Sweden and Portugal, who’d flown in specially!)

Outside the village hall where the fair is staged, under a gazebo, was Meadow Farm Lifestyle: a fab home fragrance brand whose Smoked Honey & Orange candle Jo has previously raved about here. Founder, former model and farmer’s wife Rachel Scott (pictured below), who hand-fills all the candles at home, had brought THREE TIMES the amount of stock she hauled from Yorkshire last year, and STILL sold out – and frankly, we’re not surprised.

Her candles, as you can see above, come in the most beautiful glass vessels – unlike so many, these are jars we will happily upcycle! – and smell divine. Star Magnolia, whose scent created by perfumer Pia Long, was the brand new star of the show. Where it flew!

Capturing spring so perfectly, Star Magnolia is floral and blossomy and pretty, but cut with a dash of citrus, for breeziness. We’ve been burning it in the office for the past few days (after Jo photographed it, above) – and honestly, a more beautiful and seasonally perfect candle, it’s hard to imagine.

There are two sizes, both in those gorgeous glass jars – really reasonably-priced, never mind for this kind of quality. And next year, for Barnes…? Better bring a juggernaut, Rachel.
