Beauty Bible Weekend Steal: L'Oréal Paris Brow Color Semi-Permanent Tint
While we hate harking back to lockdown… that happens to be when we discovered the art of home brow-dyeing, having relied for years on Benefit’s Brow Dates (journo perk) to have our arches tinted and groomed.
Home brow-dyeing is so easy that we’ve stuck with it ever since, Jo relying on a pack of Schwarzkopf dye (excellent stuff) which she’s eked out till right now. But it finally tinted its last, which meant a trip to Boots – and the acquisition of this relatively recent entry to the market: L'Oréal Paris Brow Color Semi-Permanent Tint.
Results are good, and definitely need topping up less frequently than the Schwarzkopf, which lasts for just a couple of weeks. Though what we would say is: you’ll need a magnifying glass for the instructions, which are printed microscopically (and crucial, as with all types of dye). Do patch test; that’s just the basic protocol with all dyeing, too. Also: Jo has super-blonde brows and so went with Shade 7 (Dark Blonde), but is also going to experiment with the Medium shade, for a look that’s more ‘there’. (Note: the numbering of the shades is slightly counterintuitive, with shade No.1 being Black!)
If you feel nervous about the effect, start with a shorter application time – you can always come back for a second go, for greater enhancement.
It’s not a super-cheap product, but compared with the cost of having your brows done in a salon, will save a fortune over time, definitely qualifying as a ‘steal’ on that basis.
And for anyone with pale brows (which also means grey), tinting them saves a HUGE amount of faff, as brows are such a vital part of ‘face architecture’.
