Beauty Bible Loves... CHANEL Chance Street pop-up in Shoreditch

We had SUCH a fun morning today (24th April), previewing the CHANEL Chance pop-up in London’s East End. (Yup. Very hip.)

Astonishingly, there is an ACTUAL street called Chance Street, and it was clever in-house PR Claudia Vrillac-Dewavrin who happened to mention this in a launch planning meeting. Genius. And so it came to pass that CHANEL has taken over a space, painted it mauve, and until 5th May is opening it to all-comers for an immersive experience that includes a Hall of Mirrors, a chance to win fab scented prizes, bookable make-up artist appointments and fragrance consultations, and too many other Instagram opportunties to list. Oh, and free lavender-coloured candy floss, for one and all!!!!

You also get to preview the new Chance ad by Jean-Pierre Jeunet, starring Chance Eau Splendide ‘face’ Angèle (the chanteuse who closed the Paris Olympics), and we especially enjoyed the fragrance discovery bar, working our way thorugh Chance, Chance Eau Fraîche, Chance Eau Tendre, Chance Eau Vive and Chance Eau Splendide – the newest, and CHANEL’s first fruity-floral fragrance. That’s not usually a scent family that pushes our buttons, but in the hands of CHANEL Perfumer Olivier Polge, of course, it’s gorgeous: fresh, light, a tiny bit sweet and very, very, very wearable, with notes of of raspberry, rose, peach, rose geranium and iris, and lots of floaty musks in the base.

You can book for a fragrance consultation, and having had her make-up done by the very talented CHANEL make-up artist Anna, this morning, we honestly recommend those sessions, which are priced £60 for 75 minutes, redeemable against purchase. Utterly fab.

Opening hours are below and I’m afraid we predict queues, as this is going to be London’s hottest make-up ticket up till 5th May… so you might want to go early in the day?

If you’re worried you don’t know your way around Shoreditch, this is impossible to miss, with the whole building painted by hand in shades of lavender and mauve (see below).

All in all, fun, fun, fun.
