Fab Find of the Week: Land&Water skincare
You’d have heard us gulp when we looked back to find out when we first raved about Land&Water on BeautyBible.com – because it was five years ago. (Read our review here.) Of course, a lot has happened since then – and time has been warped by a pandemic – but it definitely feels like the perfect moment for this Cornish-based brand to be taking the next step in their journey, with skincare.
It’s an extensive collection. We’ve put it through its paces over the past couple of weeks, and share some of the products which are topping our pops, here. To be honest, some of the products aren’t quite perfect for our dry and mature skins – but we’ve a hunch they’ll expand cleansers beyond a simple Face Wash, in time. (A balm, please, Team Land&Water!)
Meanwhile, here’s what our thirsty skins have really loved. (In fact, Jo’s been layering the first three at night as a triple-treatment-whammy, to glowing and plumped results – but they’re all worthy of exploration in their own right.)
Land&Water Night Serum – a lightweight oil rather than a gel-style serum, the active botanicals include nutrient-rich blackberry, olive, rosehip, turmeric and sweet almond extracts. Allow to sink in for a few minutes, then we’ve been applying…
Land&Water Face Moisturiser (Hydrate & Restore) – powered by hyaluronic acid, a samphire extract and glow-getting vitamin C, this is beautifully moisturising, but with great slip, so you get a big dose of moisture from a relatively small dab. Then, to seal that in…
Land&Water Face Oil (Hydrate & Restore) – richer than the serum, with jojoba, grapeseed, olive fruit oil, slightly more fragrant than the rest of the collection (Land & Water’s aromas were what first seduced us, with the body collection), with essential oils of lavender, geranium, eucalyptus, ginger and mints. By morning, skin is as silky as skin gets.
These are highlights from a range that also includes an Eye Cream (rich, so apply to the periorbital bone only) and a soon-to-be-launched Face Mask. (There are also options for normal/combination skins, rather than for dry/mature complexions, which we tried.)
Meanwhile, just to leave you with a little bit about Land&Water: the brand was created by Pix Ashworth, whose family own the Watergate Bay Hotel in beautiful, rocky Cornwall – and who set out to bottle the ‘warm glow’ that guests enjoy after days of surfing, swimming or cliff-walking, via products for body, skin and home.
And who doesn’t long for a bit of Cornish radiance – bottled – eh?
