Beauty Bible Weekend Steal: Imperial Leather Ultimate Moisture collection

Ah, Imperial Leather. Growing up, you were either a Palmolive family or an Imperial Leather family, the latter seeming to have a little more cachet.

Astonishingly, the label on this widely-TV-advertised soap stayed put through to the last sliver – in fact, it outlived the last sliver, seemingly Superglued to the bar itself (although its conception definitely pre-dates Superglue).

We have to say that the brand dropped off our radar somewhere along the way, due to an affection for even posher soaps. (One of life’s great small pleasures.) But it’s firmly BACK with this range of body cleansers and exfolliators, in two really rather (surprisingly) lovely scents.

The two fragrances are Cherry Blossom & Almond Oil and Vanilla & Wild Orchid and Cherry Blossom & Almond Oil, both created by leading perfumers. (We’d kill to know which ones, but these are really well crafted.) Importantly, though, it’s the non-drying – in fact, nourishing – texture of the products which also impresses, as these do indeed veil skin in dewy moisture. (Although we think Imperial Leather are missing a trick by not adding a body butter and/or body oil to the range, for post-soak slathering.)

The line-up of products – with a Foamburst body wash to come – is ridiculously good value, for sudsing and scrubbing.

And taking a nostalgic trip down memory lane, perhaps, as you bathe or shower…
