Beauty Bible Weekend Steal: Maybelline Lifter Glaze Lip Oil Balm
There are some advantages to leaving home for a mini-break without a single one of the dozen or so lip oils and balms that you’d normally find in our various pockets.
Like: discovering something fabulous and new, to ease lips that are definitely not liking the drier atmosphere indoors now that the central heating’s back on. (At least for the evenings!)
The formula for Maybelline New York Lifter Glaze Lip Oil Balm honestly rivals many we’ve tried at three, four times the price. This balm-oil hybrid – honestly like a lip oil, in stick form – is instantly comforting and nourishing. One slick: sheer colour, instant comfort. Two, something more intense. (Eliciting several ‘What lipstick are you wearing?’ compliments – only this is way, way comfier than most lipsticks of our acquaintance.) Three? Pure glamour.
Maybelline New York Lifter Glaze Lip Oil Balm also promises a ‘plumping’ effect – and it certainly gives that appearance, but we can’t tell if it’s an optical illusion. The hydration (and the sheer colour) last for an impressively long time, though.
It’s flavourless, though with a light and non-sickly vanilla scent that you can only make out at moment of application. Nothing major.
The first shade we bought was Rose Bite – of nine shades on offer, plus a clear lip balm-oil – but others most certainly will be coming our way, as this is most definitely a new favourite.
Every cloud, eh…?
