Beauty Bible Weekend Steal: L'Oréal Magic BB 5-in-1

Looking for a great – and affordable – BB cream? You’ll know that we’re big fans of this make-up format, for evening out skintone and reducing, nay, in many cases eliminating, the need to wear foundation. (Probably the greatest skinnovation to come out of Korea, in our opinion.)

Well, L'Oréal Magic BB 5-in-1 really is a bargain. A third to a quarter of the price of many of its rivals, it’s sheer brilliance (in every way), rivalling anythng we’ve tried. Emerging from the tube as a white cream, it magically morphs into a skin-matched shade, on your complexion. There is, indeed, just a handful of colours – but we’ve a strong hunch they are all very forgiving, matching a wide range of skintones. Which makes it less risky to buy without trying your shade first, as each shade covers a span of tones and undertones. (FYI, Jo’s shade is Medium Light – she’s blonde, with a light tan.)

It magically (as per name) evens out the complexion, reducing the appearance of red veins and sun spots, while adding a radiance but not a sweaty shine. We’ve been leaving skin just like that, adding a dot of concealer where needed.

There’s also a green CC cream, to cover redness – haven’t tried. Haven’t needed to, wearing nothing more than this.

Quite the find.
