Beauty Bible Weekend Steal: Bourjois (it’s BACK!!!!!)

Can you hear us whooping, from where you are? Because treasured brand Bourjois has made a return to our shores – and quite a few heartbroken beauty-hounds we know can come out of mourning, now. (NB That includes us.)

After three years off the British market, Bourjois is relaunching exclusively at Superdrug (who are most definitely on tip-top form right now, in terms of launches an innovation). All the usual faves will be there – Bourjois Pot Rouge (£8.99), Bourjois Rouge Velvet Lip Ink (£10.99), Bourjois Twist-Up Mascara/£11.99, as well as some innovations which we’ll be heading to Superdrug in person to check out.

We’ll be frank: we thought it was bonkers when the powers-that-be at parent company Coty pulled Bourjois from the UK, some years after buying it from Chanel, who were the somewhat under-the-radar owners of the brand for decades. As well as being wonderfully accessibly-priced, many of the products are truly world-class (several of them Beauty Bible Award-winners, over the years) – a perfect example of a multi-national new owner not ‘getting’ the treasure they had in their portfolio, eclipsed as it was by even more widely-loved names.

We’ve lost count of the number of times we’ve watched that happen, but sanity has prevailed, whether as a result of Superdrug’s doggedness (in which case more power to your elbow, guys – and thank you), or Coty’s restored vision.

We don’t care what went down.

We’re just thrilled that Bourjois is back, and we know you will be, too.
