We know there are other things to worry about right now but, as the sun beams down, please don’t forget about protecting your skin. When you’re taking your daily walk, those welcome rays can start to damage your skin (however chilly the wind is right now).

We’re loving this light silky sunscreen from natural brand Tropic, which bagged a whole raft of Awards in our latest round of testing. Chock-full of skin-cherishing plant extracts and on a base of nourishing aloe vera (a real plus for us), this works perfectly over serum. Hyaluronic acid and other emolients mean it’s pretty moisturising and we find we don't need day cream as well - although it would depend on how dry your skin in.

Sun Day is formulated to provide a primer for make up (we’re still clinging to a bit of concealer and light foundation), which glides nicely over the top, settles and stays put.

Not the cheapest but you only need a pea-sized amount they advise so it should last. Of course, if/when you are actually sun-bathing or the sun is really hot, you will need to reapply every two hours.

Importantly, as with all of Tropic’s sun protection range, the UV filters in Sun Day have reef-safe, Protect Land + Sea certification from Haereticus Environmental Laboratory. And Tropic also offers a free 15ml Sun Day when you return five empties of any Tropic sun care products.
