Fab Find of the Week: Wildsmith Skin favourites (in new compostable jars)
We’ve been patting Wildsmith Skin on the back for their commitment to sustainability ever since the brand launched, but this is a real packaging breakthrough. (And using the products on many different parts of our body, skin and scalp, as regular readers will know.)
But this packaging is really something else: an industry-leading form of ‘bio-based compostable packaging’, which is created from natural microbes. Yes, you read that correctly. And no, we don’t quite get it, either – but we can tell you that the packaging feels lovely to the touch, with a pleasingly soothing finish. Once you’ve finished the product, simply put this in your home or community composting bin, and nature starts to break it down.
Two products are so far available in Vivomer packaging: the fabulous Wildsmith Skin Active Repair Copper Peptide Cream, and the generous tub of Wildsmith Skin Ceramide Repair Balm, a multi-tasking balm whose launch somehow passed us by, but which we’re glad to make the bealted acquaintance of. Both have the usual ‘meadow'-y’ Wildsmith Skin signature fragrance and divine textures.
We’ll be trying the home composting out for ourselves, after we’ve slathered the last from the jars – because yes, sustainability still matters deeply to us.
The US President may think climate change is a hoax – but try telling that to our warming planet.
