Fab Find of the Week: Wild England
We’re rather wild about Wild England, a new range that recently landed on our desks (and rapidly made its way to our bedside tables). What we were sent to try, actually, were the travel sizes – but what an excellent way to find out whether you want to go full-size. (Think you will.)
In particular, we’re super-keen on the two bodycare products, above. Perfect time of year for these, when suddenly, the central heating’s ramped up big-time, and body skin will be crying for nourishment before we know it. They’re both fab – these are two of Wild England’s signature scents, Sweet Orange & Cardamom and Lavender & Eucalyptus – and the latter just nudges ahead in the fragrance stakes, for us. Cool, aromatic, and very, very calming. (We do very much like Sweet Orange & Cardamom, though, which has a grounding woodiness from cedarwood, alongside the zesty/warm essential oils).
Frankly, so is the whole Wild England vibe – which, weirdly, was born after the founders, Edward Wilkes and Dasha Gordeeva-Wilkes visited the far-flung reaches of Patagonia. We’re guessing that a beauty range based on the southernmost tip of South America might have been a tricky marketing prospect, so Wild England instead captures their love for Dorset’s wild beauty, offering bodycare that is both indulgent and ethical.
Inspired by the way that nature can ground and soothe our soul, have created an eco-friendly, organic collection which connects us to the tranquil, untamed landscape of England’s South West – wherever we happen to be based. (Although Sarah’s just up the road, it has to be said!) You’ll find them in hotels – they’re commited ‘to eco travel and restorative guest experieces’ (yes, please!), so you may encounter them ‘in the wild’ – but the products are also available online.
Scaling up from our travel sizes, the ‘everlasting’ toughened 500ml glass bottles are all refillable, and those refills are delivered in ‘naked’ packaging, so no waste there, either.
As we say, our favourite in the range is the Wild England Lavender & Eucalyptus Body Lotion (reasonably-priced, too), and we also enjoyed the matching Wild England Lavender & Eucalyptus Cleansing Gel. There’s also a shampoo, a conditioner, and a couple of candles (we’re hoping to get round to ordering a Mulberry & Rosemary Candle, which is currently on pre-sale.)
All in all, we’re… rather wild about them.
