Fab Find of the Week: Trinny London Fearless Skin Tint Drops

We hear a lot about ‘skincare meets make-up, yada, yada, yada…’ But in the case of these EXTRAORDINARY ‘skin tint drops’, it’s completely true.

We’ll go on to the skincare bit. But first, we want to tell you about the performance of this latest product from Trinny Woodall’s Trinny London brand. (We well remember Trinny introducing her brand to us, on a sofa in a hotel in Soho. We were hugely impressed then, and we’ve only grown more so, ever since.)

If you are a foundation refusenik, Trinny London Fearless Skin Tint Drops are for you. The texture is liquid – really liquid – and as the name suggests, is dispensed via a dropper. Do drop the product onto the back of your hand, and pick up from there with a brush – such as the yellow Trinny one pictured above, OR the foundation sponges pictured alongside the Trinny London Fearless Skin Tint Drops; if you try dropping it on your face, there’s a genuine risk of getting it on your towel/bathrobe/clothes, and the back-of-the-hand trick allows you to pick up only as much as you want.

On the face, it’s weightless – but INCREDIBLY covering. Dark circles, pigmentation, red veins: gone, gone, gone. One swoosh with the brush may well be enough, but you can build without the product feeling cake-y or heavy in the least. The drops go by the name of ‘Fearless’ (and indeed, the product was launched at a breakfast where a bunch of fearless women spoke alongside Trinny, including Stacey Duguid) – but they could equally have been called ‘weightless’. You just can’t feel that there’s anything on your face, yet the coverage really goes the distance and is still pulling its weight when evening swings around, and importantly, the product doesn’t settle into lines at any point in the day.

And now, for that skincare info. There’s hydrating hyaluronic acid to plump dehydration lines. Biacinamide, to help soften the appearance of fine lines and help with barrier function. And last but not least, biomimetic lipids also support the skin barrier, while something called evodia extract is in there to boost radiance and give a more luminous complexion.

It really is luminous. If some ‘foundations’ make skin look flat and dull, this not only moves with your skin but really gives a lit-from-within look.
