Beauty Bible Loves... Clarins Joli Rouge refillable lipsticks
One day, we hope it won’t be news when a brand brings out a refillable lipstick. In years to come, we hope every brand will simply be offering lipsticks or powders or shadows which click into an existing case, saving massively on packaging.
But we ain’t there yet. So, we’re delighted to bring you the excellent news about Clarins Joli Rouge, now available with eco-friendly refill cartridges which slip inside a gold, red or white case (your choice).
The feel: very hydrating; being Clarins, there are plenty of skincare ingredients in there, including lip-loving shea butter and camellia oil.
The look: choose from Sheer or Shine finish. Satin, as you’d expect, is more richly pigmented (16 shades available), while Shine is more balm-like in texture, and comes in eight shades. (We generally veer towards the latter style, out of preference – but ‘proper lipstick’ is quite the make-up fashion statement for this autumn, so we’re going to get our hand in again.)
The finish: satin or shine – it’s your call, but each of the eight shades is available in both finishes.
Clarins Joli Rouge is actually proving so popular that varying shades are out of stock, depending on the retailer – so you might want to shop around online to find the colour of your choice.
You might alternatively want to head to an actual #IRL Clarins counter in an actual shop, to try for yourself – they can always let you know when your chosen shade is in store again, if it’s already flown out of the door.
