Fab Find of the Week: AMELIORATE (with its cool new look)
AMELIORATE are just heroic at tackling some really tough skin challenges. Like bumpy ‘chicken skin’ on upper arms. Or flaky, itchy scalps. Or breakouts on face, chest, back (in an unaggressive but effective way.)
Trouble is… the packaging hasn’t been that – well, sexy. And… it sounds shallow, but when a product is visually appealing, we’re more likely to reach for it, make it part of a ritual (and see benefits).
All that has changed with what is honestly a gorgeous rebrand. Same effective products, but ones that you’re now going to be proud to have on display and enjoy using. (If you don’t know the range, BTW, AMELIORATE is a UK dermatologist-led brand, powered by a unique LaH6 hydration complex (to respect skin’s barrier function.)
Thought we’d highlight some longstanding faves in the range, to mark their, er, transformation. (Some of the range names have changed, too.)
Transforming Body Exfoliant (from the ‘blue’ range, above) – formerly known and loved as Smoothing Body Exfoliant, this is your go to for rough, dry, bumpy skin, including Keratosis pilaris and super-dry patches, thanks to natural AHAs, bamboo granules, coconut oil and shea and cocoa butters.
Soothing Scalp Serum – lightweight and clinically proven to improve scalp condition in seven days, it’s enriched with lactic acid to exfoliate dead skin cells and debris, along with oat oil, celery see and the brand’s LaH6 Skin Hydration Complex. All of which makes for a product that is calming, hydrating, rebalancing, and thus ideal for dry, flaky, itchy scalps. It was formerly known as Transforming Scalp Serum. (As you can see, Ameliorate have had a bit of a naming rejig.)
Clarifying Body Wash – an absolute steal at twelve quid, this fresh-scented body cleanser is clinically proved to help prevent body breakouts (think: shoulders, chest), infused with clay to draw out impurities, with soothing willow bark extract and inulin and AMELIORATE’s ‘LaB6 Skin Clearing Complex’. Helps to control excess oil and leave skin softer, as well as clearer. (Maybe that strapless Christmas party dress isn’t an impossible dream, after all…)
