Fab Find of the Week: CeraVe's new suncare
This is big suncare news, because CeraVe, the sensitive skin specialists – whose products we so often recommend to our touchy-skinned readers – have launched a comprehensive range offering broad-spectrum SPF protection (the benchmark), with pleasant textures, all hypoallergenic and absolutely fragrance-free, and dermatologically-tested.
Sunscreens and sensitive skin can be a troublesome pairing, but protecting skin every day is absolutely the greatest defence against premature ageing. It’s our perennial mantra. CeraVe actually do already offer skincare with SPF benefits – but these new launches are your sensitive skin holiday buddies. Note: remember to take these all the way down to bra-line, because the décolletage is so perfectly angled to pick up sun damage.
There are two levels of protection – some SPF30s are available – but we honestly don’t really ever prescribe less than an SPF50, to anyone, ever. So, in the range, you’ll find:
• CeraVe Invisible Hydrating Sun Cream SPF50/£14 for 75ml – it’s honestly down to preferred texture, here – this one is the richest, and so probably most suitable for thirsty (as well as touchy) complexions.
• CeraVe Invisible Hydrating Fluid Sunscreen SPF50/£17 for 50ml – slightly lighter in weight than the cream, but with the same benefits.
• CeraVe Invisible Sun Stick SPF50/£11 for 8g – for noses, lips, ears and other tender parts.
• CeraVe Invisible Dry Touch Sunscreen SPF50/£17 for 50ml – the one for faces, where you really don’t like to feel anything on the skin at all. (That’s the key reason we hear for anyone avoiding sunscreen.) Honestly imperceptible on skin, and the nozzle on these small bottles is incredibly precise, so you won’t end up with too much on your fingers. (That is also a THING with sunscreen – too much gloop!)
• CeraVe Invisible Hydrating Sunscreen for Face and Body/£21 for 177ml – your one-and-done. The space-saver in your suitcase, lightening the load in your beach bag, for slathering generously top-to-toe.
