Beauty Bible Weekend Steal: Bondi Sands Everyday skincare
So, you thought Bondi Sands was just a tanning range?
Us, too. But not any more: turns out that Aussie brand Bondi Sands now offers a really reasonably-priced skincare line-up – and while some of it is a teensy bit more expensive than our usual £10 ceiling for this regular bargain-focused feature, we want to share with you anyway.
It’s all good stuff: 12 products in all, from which we’ve selected a quartet of ‘stars’, below. It’s particularly targeted at young skins – a good skincare ‘intro’, we suggest. (Love the colour-coded packaging, too, making what’s quite a big range easy to navigate: green for cleansing, mauve for hydration, yellow for protection, etc.)
Light & Dreamy Gel Moisturiser/£8.99 for 50ml. Goes on like a gel, morphs into a cream, ideal for oilier and shine-prone skintypes. Botanicals in the formula include glycerine, watermelon, along with that mega-moisturiser, hyaluronic acid – and it’s rather aptly-named, we think.
Face Glaze Mask/£10.99 for 75ml. Slightly hilariously, Bondi Sands ask the question: ‘Looking to achieve skin that’s as glossy as a freshly-iced donut?’ What they really mean is: this plumps, hydrates and leaves skin gleaming, with ingredients that include glycerine, HA and ceramides; it works as a wash-off mask or can be left to sink in overnight. You donut-face, you!
Thirsty Skin Hyaluronic Serum/£8.99 for 30ml. Fact: it’s jolly hard to track down a serum for under a tenner. This deploys hyaluronic acid, again, to give skin a great dose of moisture, along with an algae extract. It doesn’t have a specific ‘anti-ageing’ effect – unlike ‘grown-up’ serums – but in their own trials, 94% of testers said their skin felt ‘deeply hydrated’, after 30 days.
Sunny Daze SPF50 Mineral Moisturiser/£12.99 for 50g. We’re often asked by really very young women what anti-ageing products they can be using. Our answer is always the same: SPF! It’s UV damage that leads to premature skin ageing, so daily sun protection is at this stage way more effective than any wrinkle ‘treatment’. Let’s keep those lines at bay for as long as possible! And this is a great, lightweight SPF to help you do just that, shielding against UVA and UVB with a formula rich in vitamin E and hibiscus extract, with zinc oxide to shield. As we’ve referenced, Bondi Sands have real expertise in self-tanning and protection, and this taps into that UV-protective wisdom.
