Otis Batterbee 111 Foundation Buffer

We like to think we have our finger on the pulse of pretty much everything in the beauty universe, but just sometimes, Sunday Times STYLE columnist India Knight alerts us to something we’ve missed – and we’re as susceptible to her influence as any of you lot.

And so it was that we ordered this from bed, the very minute we read India waxing lyrical about it. And sure enough, the Otis Batterbee 111 Foundation Buffer is – unquestionably – the very best foundation brush we’ve ever tried. (We LONG AGO gave up putting on foundation with our fingers.)

The fluffy, over-sized microfibre brush really does (as the name says) ‘buff’ foundation into skin, to the point where it’s literally invisible (and that’s how we want our face base). It also seems to extend its endurance – ‘pressing’ the product into skin.

There’s just one more thing we love – the Neapolitan ice cream colours of the Otis Batterbee 111 Foundation Buffer…! Not that that’s a good reason to buy a foundation brush, but always nice when a make-up accessory makes you smile involuntarily at a childhood memory!

We will most definitely be ordering further brushes from this specialist site, and we’ll keep you posted as to how we get on – though be aware: if you decide to follow our example (and India’s), her rave review turned the brush into a sell-out and it’s waitlist only, for now.

Normally we wouldn’t post about things you can’t get your hands on – but we’ve a hunch the waitlist might get a waitlist, if we leave this review till later…
