FPP Fermented Papaya Preparation (FPP) food supplement

So what do supermodel Irene Shayk, film star Sharon Stone and the late fabulous Claudia Cardinale have in common with Popes John Paul II, Benedict XVI and the current incumbent, Francis? They have all said they take a food supplement called FPP, made of 100% natural, certified non-GMO papayas fermented for ten months. (Indeed, it’s been sold in the Vatican pharmacy since 2012.)

It comes in little one-a-day sachets, which you take on an empty stomach. Sarah, who’s become rather addicted, takes it first thing and reports that ‘it tastes like a rather delicious sherbet’. You do have to wait about 10 minutes before having anything to eat or drink, just to give it time to get into your system.

Developed by the Osato Research Institute in Japan 25 years ago and now a bestseller worldwide, it has stacks and more stacks of very high quality research to support its benefits. By combining papaya, one of the most antioxidant rich fruits, and fermentation, known to support the gut and longevity, FPP really packs a nutritional punch to help us all look great and feel great as the years go by.

Formerly called Immunâge, FPP is proven to support the immune system, the production of cellular energy and through its antioxidant effect counteract free radical damage throughout the body. It may help protect against heart disease, Alzheimer’s Disease and Parkinson’s Disease.

FPP has also demonstrated that it’s a boon when you exercise, helping the body to recover more quickly from muscle pain, fatigue, cramps and general aches. (One for Sarah’s marathon runner nephew then.)

From a beauty perspective, FPP has been shown to improve skin hydration, elasticity and even tone. Sarah finds that it boosts her energy, stamina and general feeling of wellbeing – and the skin benefits are a real bonus.

Certainly not cheap at £2 a day per sachet, but that’s a lot less than a daily dose of just one cappuccino… And rather more benefits.
