Katherine Daniels Pure Pigment Drops and Pure Pigment Foundation & Concealer Brush

Clever, clever, clever.

These just landed on our desks and are set to shave a little time off our morning skin prep. How so? Because you blend Katherine Daniels Foundation Drops with your SPF to create an all-in-one protective day cream and face base, in one.

You can regulate coverage. More drops = more concealing. For us, that means two drops for weekends, four for work days when we feel we need to look more polished. Four shades are available, all of them quite ‘forgiving’ in terms of the span of skintones they’ll work on. (See below for the spectrum.) Because you mix it, the tube will go a l-o-n-g way.

The Pure Pigment Foundation & Concealer Brush that arrived with the tube, however (to be purchased separately) is an absolute revelation. At one end, find the perfect flat-top foundation brush, for buffing the Foundation Drops/SPF blend into skin. (Or any other foundation, actually.) And at the other, a brilliant concealer brush which makes accessing the dark shadows at the inner corner of the eye, and adding coverage to lids, easier than we’ve ever found it. You can use the Pure Pigment Drops ‘neat’ on the brush, for denser coverage, and Katherine Daniels also recommend that a lighter shade can be used by way of highlighter, or darker for contour. (Um, does anyone contour any more?)

This British skincare brand is doing some impressive stuff – but this is a little bit of genius, so far as we’re concerned. (And PS: the tube is made of PCR plastic, and recyclable, while the wood for the brush is FSC-certified.)
