Beauty Bible Loves... Christophe Robin Cleansing Purifying Scrub

Zut alors!

How is it possible that a product as seemingly unsexy as a scalp scrub can have a couple of ardent staycationers dreaming of a mini-break in Normandy?

Well, maybe that’s taking things a bit far. But with a limited edition tub emblazoned with beach umbrellas and a sailing ship, scented with airy notes of bergamot and lemon (along with iris, violet leaf and cedarwood), it certainly encouraged us to dip our fingers into the whipped, sea salt-based blend, to give our scalp a good and much-needed going-over.

So often, it’s the sheer pleasure factor of a product that seduces us – and that’s certainly the case here. Did we use this when it was in its original, slightly boring packaging, without that summery scent? Non! Now, however, we’ve discovered how this sea salt-based scrub leaves the scalp feeling super-clean, ultra-fresh and really rather – well, fabuleux. And thus it’s definitely a keeper, for occasional, scalp-health-boosting, hair-glossing use. (No problem with our sometimes sensitive scalp, either.)

Are we sad even to love the box (pictured below) so much that we’re finding it too nice to throw away…? Not least because it promises: ‘The Cleansing Purifying Scrub transports us to Normandy for a sweet sunny getaway. Travel to wide sandy beaches where emblematic colourful parasols stand. An invigorating walk along narrow streets line with half-timbered houses continues to the marina, where the lulling song of seagulls marks the end of the day.’

Not quite the next best thing to an escape to Honfleur or Deauville – but as well as being just darned great to use, it certainly makes us smile.
