Do NOT be confused by the name of this eyebrow pencil. It doesn’t just come in black, but a range of shades, from Blonde to (yes) Ebony.

This is a slimline, micro-fine pencil that packs a deceptively big punch. A few strokes, et voilà (as Terry de Gunzburg would say): BROWS. Impressively budge-proof and long-lasting –indeed it does seem (based on recent drizzly experience) to live up to their ‘waterproof’ promise, too.

Easy as pie, By Terry Browliner Blackstar feathers on to create a truly realistic-looking brow. For an accented arch, you might try using a few strokes of a second pencil – one shade darker – on the centre peak of the brow, as this technique delivers an eye-lifting effect. (NB these self-sharpening, swivel-up pencils aren’t inexpensive, but each will last you – well, getting on for forever.)
