Growing up, you were either a Palmolive family or an Imperial Leather family, the latter seeming to have a little more cachet. Astonishingly, the label on this widely-TV-advertised soap stayed put through to the last sliver – in fact, it outlived the last sliver, seemingly Superglued to the bar itself (although its conception definitely pre-dates Superglue). We have to say that the brand dropped off our radar somewhere along the way, due to an affection for even posher soaps. (One of life’s great small pleasures.) But it’s firmly BACK with this range of body cleansers and exfolliators, in two really rather (surprisingly) lovely scents. What a relief, then, to find a Korean product that de-clutters your bathroom shelf/bedside table, rather than clutters it up. Wonderbalm really is a bit of a wonder. It’s not the first multi-tasking balm we’ve written about, and probably won’t be the last, but we’re enjoying finding more and more tasks that this glass pot of balm can perform. They claim ‘3-in-1’: eye pencil, eyeshadow and eyeliner. Certainly, it multi-tasks as a smooshable, so-easy eyeshadow, or a stronger pencil that can be used for defining. 3-in-1 Eyes Multitasker is self-sharpening, and the finish you get is all down to how hard you press – a little more force for eyelining, a lighter touch for shading. (Can be blended with fingers, or a synthetic eyeshadow brush.) It lasts well – they promise 12 hours and we wouldn’t contradict. So Sephora’s Quiet Hours Pilot Project is music to our ears – only NOT. It began a couple of weeks ago, and will run till 26th July, in selected stores. If it’s a success, Sephora – the first beauty retailer to pilot this idea worldwide – should be extending the scheme. Home brow-dyeing is so easy that we’ve stuck with it ever since, Jo relying on a pack of Schwarzkopf dye (excellent stuff) which she’s eked out till right now. But it finally tinted its last, which meant a trip to Boots – and the acquisition of this relatively recent entry to the market: @lorealparis Brow Color Semi-Permanent Tint. And how many times have we been disappointed…? All that is behind us, with the debut of O.P.I. RapidDry nail polish, the first truly to deliver on its quick-drying pledge, in our experience. Somewhat cynically, Jo first applied one coat – and it was dry within a few seconds. Cagily, a day later, she applied a second coat – and a glossy top coat soon, after – and again, completely rock solid in a couple of blinks of an eye. This is actually a little bit life-changing: something you can whizz onto your nails to make them look shiny and groomed right before you head out the door. 🌟 Fab Find of the Week: @granado Exuberance Hand Cream Trio 🥰 Having a little sniff around Covent Garden – a lovely thing to do, on a sunny afternoon – we visited for the first time the new Granado boutique on (aptly enough) Floral Street. What a treat for the senses. If you don’t know them, Granado is a Brazilian brand which landed in the UK around three years ago, and has really made a colourful, fragrant splash in the world of fragrance and bodycare. There are now a couple of other Granado boutiques – at Ham Yard Hotel, and on Chelsea’s King’s Road – and they all offer the same immersive sensorial experience, alive with colour and scent. The products are good value – but we are especially taken right now with this Granado Exuberance Hand Cream Trio, featuring a really decent 50g (handbag-worthy) size of their luscious yet not greasy hand creams, in three different and exotic scents.
