Fab Find of the Week: Eyeam newness
From the very first time we met Roxanne Marrone, we could feel her spark. Sheβs the daughter of Organic Pharmacy founder Margo Marrone, who weβve known and admired since she set up the very first brand of that natural skincare store, on the kink in Chelseaβs Kingβs Road. At the time we met her, Roxy was doing Organic Pharmacyβs social media β but things have moved on since then, the Marrones sold the businessβ¦ and now, theyβre back with a whole new and very different brand that we need to put onto your radar.
Eyeam β its logo is an eye, with βamβ after it β calls itself βa community-driven wellness destination on a mission to align your skin with your mind, body and spirit.β So, thereβs a ritual element to Eyeam, whose products are infused with crystals and accompanied by affirmations. Sounds a bit woo-woo? Stick with us, here β because the mind/skin link has long been recognised by science, and taking time to rebalance ourselves β via breathwork, nutrition, even repeating positive messages out loud β can most definitely have a positive impact on skin.
Thatβs something that Roxy knows first-hand β after experiencing hormonal acne, and turning to mind-body medicine to heal her skin. And that helped shape this mother and daughterβs vision for their new co-venture, which also has laudable sustainability credentials, which you can read about here.
But even if youβve never taken a yoga class, think crystals are a load of cobblers and feel you βdonβt have time to meditateβ (as someone we know dared to say to Deepak Chopraβs face, not long ago!!!), thereβs no getting away from Margo Marroneβs skincare expertise.
Eyeam offers only a small range, for now β but weβve high hopes that it will expand, and both the products weβve tried so far weβve loved. Each is delivered via a smooth rollerball fashioned from rose quartz crystal β and NB you have to twist beneath the rollerball to get the product out, as we discovered after a few failed attempts to get anything out of the packaging!
Eyeam No Baggage Eye Serum/Β£26 for 15ml. A lightweight serum, powered by circulation-boosting caffeine and horse chestnut and a slew of other botanicals including firming gotu kola, powerfully antioxidant bilberry and grapevine resveratrol, de-puffing arnica plus plumping hyaluronic acid. For the believers: ritualise application with βI am letting go of anything that is holding back.β For the non-believers: just look in the mirrorβ¦ and you will!
Eyeam Love Language Lip Bloss/Β£27 for 15ml. First of allβ¦ yes, BLOSS! We had to look three times, but itβs described as 50% balm, 50% gloss (and β100% about self-love, FYI). Delicously, fabulously quenching and comfy, a wee bit minty, and very plumpifying. Itβs great on its own, fabulous under or over lipstick. Whoosh! Thatβs the sound of it flying straight into a handbagβ¦
The third product in the cosmetics line-up is an azaelic acid-powered Eyeam Crystal-Clear Spot + Pigmentation Treatment/Β£29 for 15ml, targeting acne, scarring and pigmentation. Now we donβt have spots β but we understand its anti-bacterial action β neem, tea tree, white willow, tea tree, plus calming chamomile and a Vecto-Retinoid β similar to Retinol, but requiring none of the downtime. 24 reviews give it five stars and β well, thatβs going to have to do, in terms of endorsements.
And letβs not forget the In My Healing Era Affirmation Cards/Β£17, with 36 affirmations in the pack, some of which you can see in the photo above. As Margo and Roxy put it, βBy incorporating these affirmations into your daily practice, you can cultivate a positive mindset, reaffirm your self-worth, and embrace the transformative power of healing.β
But hey, even if you ignore the Mind, Body and Spirit aspects of this brand β which we rather love, our inner hippies never being far beneath the surface β do check out the βSkinβ element, wonβt youβ¦?
