Beauty Bible Weekend Steal: Rimmel London Better Than Filters

Nothing we like better than a ‘research mooch’ around Boots. Yes, we’re on PR lists. Yes, we definitely have our fingers on the pulse. But nothing really beats dipping and dabbing and trying and exploring the myriad brands, particularly at affordable level, which can now be found on the high street.

This was a find, last week. Rimmel London Better Than Filters is glow-getting primer which delivers a really summery hint-of-a-tint – and happens to have a really impressive blurring effect. (We are reminded of Trinny BFF De-Stress Tinted Serum, here – albeit slightly more glimmery, but far less expensively).

Rimmel London have designed this to deliver the sort of soft‑focus, camera‑ready glow that you might get if you used a filter on your phone. (Tempting as it is, we avoid that!) Lightweight and easy to blend, it minimises the visible appearance pores and fine lines while delivering a really flattering, lit‑from‑within radiance.

Use it under, over or instead of foundation for a finish that is somewhat polished, rather than obviously ‘made‑up’. The key? The absolute key? Find your match – because this comes in a wide range of shades, and should be complexion-matched as they span 000 Porcelain through to 006 Medium Deep.

Which is why an #IRL visit to a Boots can be so darned useful – whether you’re a beauty editor, or not.
