Weekend Steal: Look Fantastic December Beauty Box
The quickest glance at the contents list for the box, and we did a double take – because almost all the products on there are absolute staples, for us. Beauty boxes are only a bargain when you’re going to use the contents up, rather than clutter a bathroom cabinet with them – and that’s absolutely going to happen, here. With a value of £65, and a price-tag of £13 (plus the postage), this is what you’ll get to play with in the Look Fantastic December Beauty Box – and here’s why we rate the products themselves. (Note: you can buy an individual box without committing to regular deliveries. That’s the way we like it.)
this works Deep Sleep Pillow Spray (10ml deluxe size, worth £12). What can we say? A sleep-beckoning go-to of ours for well over a decade, with its blend of vetiver, lavender and chamomile. Spray into air, onto pillow or your nightclothes, and quite simply sleep better (as their clinical trials attest).
Christophe Robin Regenerating Mask with Prickly Pear Oil (15ml deluxe size worth £15). What can we say? There are two hair mega-treats in this kit, both ace – and frankly, right now, hair can use as much nourishment as it can get. This one’s from a super-cool Parisian specialist in hair colour and care loved by the city’s A-list beauties; if you can’t get there in person, this cult product invites you behind the red velvet rope for some extra TLC.
Aromatherapy Associates Revive Morning Bath & Shower Oil (9ml, worth £14). This has us skipping out of bed, rather than dragging our heels, to greet the day with its wake-you-up blend of juniper, rosemary and grapefruit.
Mylee Nail Wraps (worth £13) – in the perfect ‘rouge-noir’ shade, Mylee wraps have impressed us with their ridiculous ease of use – lasting up to 14 days on nails, after you simply apply, then file. (And admire your shiny manicure.)
NIP+FAB Salicylic Fix Facial Scrub (75ml full size, worth over £9). To be fair, the only wild card for us in this line-up, a skin-buffing blend we’re unfamiliar with, offering both ‘chemical and physical exfoliating action’, via salicylic acid and volcanic rock grains. (We might advise treating this with a little caution on the face, till you have its measure, meanwhile.)
Moroccanoil All in One Leave-in Conditioner (20ml deluxe size, worth £5). The other hair-lovin’ product in this great-value kit, a leave-in product from Moroccanoil (with that signature ‘cocooning’ scent), which shields hair to help resist the effects of heat styling, or simply adds extra moisture and nourishment if you’re air-drying.
Our verdict: a properly good line-up.
