Beauty Bible Weekend Steal: The Little Soap Company Artisan Handmade Soaps
We just love the story behind the return of these soaps, which hark back to the time when Emma Heathcote-James founded her natural soap-making business β never quite imagining that it would grow into a brand sold in the countryβs favourite retailers, from Waitrose to Sainsburyβs via Tesco, ASDA and Ocado β and earn her a slew of awards and accolades.
Weβre on Little Soapβs mailing list, and earlier this week, a message from Emma pinged into our inbox.
She writes: βSome of you have been asking where our Artisan Handmade soaps went. The honest answer? Life got in the way. Running a business that's grown from a kitchen table to every major supermarket shelf doesn't leave a lot of time for standing at a workbench with a whisk and a thermometer.β
But a couple of weeks ago, I cleared the diary, dug out the moulds my dear friend John made for me years ago, and spent two days doing the thing that started all of this β making soap by hand.β
Same recipe, same moulds, same cartons and the same amount of love whisked into every batch as when I was selling these at farmers' markets almost twenty years ago. The only thing that's changed? I need glasses to read the thermometers now!β
That made us laugh out loud. But if you would like to get your hands β er, literally β on a batch thatβs been made by the founder of a multi-million pound brand, who wanted to get back to her roots, it only remains for us to say: you have four Artisan soaps to choose from: Lavender, Lavender & Orange, Lavender & Oats and (always a favourite scent of ours), Rose Geranium.
