Beauty Bible Weekend Steal: e.l.f. Soft Glam Cream Blush & Bronzer
These were spamming our Instagram. Couldn’t wait for PR samples to try them, so off to Boots we toddled, to find that the e.l.f. fixture had almost sold out.
Here’s why.
e.l.f. Soft Glam Cream Blush and Bronzer is a truly terrific, super-affordable cream blusher (or bronzer – your call), offering more staying power than most. (Where does cream blusher go? Into the ether? Some literally seem to dematerialise.)
It’s absolute child’s play. Simply swipe onto skin, blend with fingers. That’s it. For the bronzers, you obviously want to apply strategically where you want a sun-kissed look (so that means forehead, maybe nose and chin – or blend all over, on moisturised skin, for a ramped-up glow).
The finish isn’t glimmery – slightly satiny – and the colours are great. Our tip for the most universally flattering cheek colour is the shade Muted Mauve, which is a rosewood shade, but we also bought Heat Check, a ‘strawberry’ shade, which is great for a milkmaid-esque/Marie Antoinette more obvious glow. Honestly, terribly, terribly pretty.
The finish is super-soft and diffused, yet buildable. No hard lines, while 2% shea butter and 1% sunflower seed oil make for beautiful blendability (and buildability).
The e.l.f. Soft Glam Cream Bronzer, meanwhile, is equally super-smooth, in a really wide range of tones spanning Fair and Light/Medium to Tan/Deep and Deep/Rich. (Impressive shade range, that.) All in all, a quality to match cream blushers we’ve tried at four (maybe more) times the price.
No wonder the shelves had been stripped bare.
