7 Secrets of Beauty & Wellbeing: superfacialist Vaishaly Patel

We can’t even count how many years we’ve known and loved Vaishaly – she’s always known simply by her first name, no need for any more.

And she’s at the top of our list of truly incredible facialists. No wonder that some of her clients are still with her after 20 years of her hands-on miracle working; they come from all over this country and Europe – they even jet over from America. Some can afford to come to her clinic in London’s Marylebone every six weeks or so while others save up for a twice-yearly visit.

One thing we can promise; everyone gets the same extraordinary dedication and devotion from Vaishaly and her team - whether you’re an A-lister, beauty editor or member of the public. For Vaishaly, it’s as much about treating the mind as the body through her gentle touch therapy and careful choice of products. And that’s evident in Vaishaly’s seven secrets, which you can read here.

1.  The best well-being tip I’ve ever learnt is how to meditate, which my Buddhist mentor taught me. It keeps me calm all the time, and no matter what life throws at me, my mind doesn’t allow me to get stressed over anything. It’s the best feeling ever! I used to feel stressed and tired sometimes but since I’ve learnt to meditate it has really helped me manage my stress. It’s such a powerful tool, which has amazing de-stressing and energizing benefits for my mind and my body.

Beautywise, I know it’s been said many times before, (and it’s something I’ve spoken about for years) but facial massage every night does wonders for your skin. Done regularly it can keep your skin clear, decongested, plump, lifted, sculpted and glowing.

2. The quality rate most in others is someone who has a good heart and is caring. The same goes for myself. I have a good heart, I’m caring, and my purpose in life is to help others. This is so important to me and incredibly rewarding.

3.  My Buddhist Mentor is my role model. He helped me change my whole life around and, as a result, I’m in a really good place emotionally, mentally and physically. I’m the happiest I’ve ever been, and it’s all down to him. He is also the reason why I managed to get pregnant when I couldn’t before, because we talked through things that I didn’t realise I was holding onto from many years ago.  As a result these had caused a blockage in my body that stopped me from conceiving. As soon as these issues were dealt with and I let go of them, I got pregnant.

4.  I don’t generally take supplements – but I swear by Viviscal. I was losing my hair through stress, and this is the only supplement that worked. It’s also FDA approved.

5.  I find inspiration looking at the ocean. I love to go on holiday somewhere hot when I can sit and gaze at the water. It’s so calming and helps to keep my head clear.

6.  I do like a night in to myself! I’ll order a nice take-away and find a movie on Netflix.

7.  There are three must-haves in my make-up bag. Charlotte Tilbury Magic Away Concealer is the best concealer I’ve ever tried: great colour, texture, covers up dark circles really well and it’s also brightening. I’ve tried hundreds of eyeliners, but Rimmel Scandaleyes Black Eyeliner is by far the best jet black liner, and it lasts all day. And I can’t lilve without YSL Volume Effet Faux Cils in Black; I have used this for 25 years. My lashes are very fine and light in colour. This mascara makes them look really full, long and thick, as if I had eyelash extensions.
