Fab Find of the Week: @nealsyardremedies Wild Rosehip newness 💖 Rosehips have always been hero ingredients at Neal’s Yard Remedies – as far back as we can remember. (And, er, that is a LONG time.) The reason is simple: this brilliant botanical ingredient is incredibly rich in antioxidants, alongside natural pro-vitamin A and vitamin E. The benefits? A more even skintone (in time), as well as – in the shorter term – increased glow. As in: overnight, in the case of two of these products!!!! What we have to learn from the French about beauty – in one great book! 📕 😍 We’ve always been rather jealous of French beauties. Seemingly effortlessly well put-together, generally with great skin and an insouciant attitude. We’ve also always been jealous of their access to amazing pharmacies, with wall upon wall of scientifically-sound haircare and skincare (and pharmacists on hand to steer you towards the correct purchases). @drmarinevincent who has been UK-based for over a decade, has worked to bring some of that beauty philosophy to London, with her Marylebone store @thefrench.pharmacy – a cult favourite among beauty editors, showcasing many of the finest brands from across the Channel. Beauty Steal: @altruistsun Face Fluid SPF50 🌞✨ A proper, dermatologist-created daily sunscreen, for around a tenner or so. That’s worth sharing. We’ve been hearing the buzz about Altruist Face Fluid SPF50 for a while, now, and it was time for a road-test. And this has SO much going for it. Created by consultant derm and skin cancer surgeon Dr. Andrew Birnie (and no one understands the importance of SPF better than a skin cancer surgeon), this offers top-notch UVA and UVB protection. Fab Find of the Week: @lordsfragrancehouse Fragrance Disco Ball Rotating Diffuser 🪩✨🕺 With the state the world’s in, we think life really calls for one of these. A diffuser-with-a-difference: a bright disco ball which wafts fragrance into the room and is just the cheerer-upper that can put the fun back into life, and the smile back onto our faces. It’s from LORDS Fragrance House, a brand we’ve highlighted here before, whose founder Sasha Lords is hugely creative, massive fun – and has genius ideas like this. Basically, it’s a rotating diffuser, setting your decor a-sparkle as it rotates, and via something called ‘ultrasonic water mist technology’, wafts scent into the air at the same time. Treatments We Love: Aroma Aura Reading with @michelleroquesoneil 🌟 Jo (Fairley) visits holistic supertherapist Michelle Roques O’Neil for a rather different ‘perfume prescription’ – and a therapy session… As Jo writes: ‘Michelle and I go back a long way. She’s in my pantheon of greatest healers and therapists, actually. The first time I experienced a treatment with her, when I “came to” – and honestly it felt like that – I was facing the other way in the room to the way I thought, in my head. It was literally like my molecules had been rearranged! And her products have always been go-tos for me. Beauty Steal: @johnfriedauk Root Lift Dry Texture Spray 💙🦋 Once upon a time, John Frieda had a great product called Funky Chunky. It created a great, textured look that many of us still love (and which has always been a bit of a signature hair look at the John Frieda salon – a completely classic style). Funky Chunky was great for adding a bit of movement and zhoosh, and breaking up hair that could look a bit listless and straight. That product, alas, died a death – but here’s a cool replacement from John Frieda, this time in the form of a texture spray that just adds noticeable lift at the roots (zero stickiness, zero crunch, NB), and makes hair look that bit fuller and bouncier. Because it’s used on dry hair, you can reach for it whenever hair’s looking a bit… like it’s lost its mojo.
