Fab Find of the Week: Monika Blunder Beauty – three new loves

First up: don’t be put off by the word ‘Blunder’; it’s the name of the German founder of this skincare-infused make-up line, Monika Blunder, who happens one of Hollywood’s most sought-after make-up pros. Because the three products we’re about to share are absolutely ‘blunder-proof’, in our opinion.

The textures of these three ‘picks’ are divine. Smooth, creamy, melting seamlessly into skin and lips; that’s the skincare advantage for you. (We’re not surprised that Cult Beauty has snapped Monika’s collection up, to showcase online.)

Kissen Lush Lipstick Crayon/£28. We are mad for lipstick crayons, which create a bitten-lip look so easily it’s almost ridiculous. (‘Kissen’ is German for kiss, BTW, in case you hadn’t intuited.) Six gorgeous shades, all infused with a raft of skincare ingredients including Edelweiss, arnica, shea and bacuri seed butters, rose flower wax, plus lashings of natural oils, including sea buckthorn, meadowfoam, marula, rosehip, jojoba and orange peel.

Botanical Lip Balm Tint/£23. The crayon is super-nourishing, but this even more so, to be squeezed directly onto lips or – our preference, as we find that just a little difficult to control. Four options, including Clear; we like the Sommer/Red – a sheer cherry – and more rosewood-esque Frühling/Mauve. The skincare benefits here are via Edelweiss (again), vitamin E, ‘ultra-filling spheres’ (which create a smooth surface, a polysaccharide that improves moisture retention, plenty of natural oils, plus our old friend hyaluronic acid.

Liquid Flush Cheek Tint/£25. We’re saving our fave of the trio till last: a wonderful sheer burst of cheek colour, which is much less messy than a lot of tubes of cream blusher/liquid blusher options that we’ve tried, since you apply via a doe-foot wand; the result is a truly healthy and natural-looking glow. Again, plenty of natural botanicals, including some Essential Fatty Acids that create the silky finish, without being at all greasy.

All of them great for slipping in a side pocket of a tote – soon to be pressed back into service, once the beauty launch season kicks off again, in our case – for on-the-go touch-ups. Goof-proof, every one.
