Fab Find of the Week: Henry's Townhouse candles
You donβt have to be a βBridgertonβ fan to love these new candles from Henryβs Townhouse. But we totally are, and weβre loving the Regency vibe that wafts from them, alongside with notes of their very beautiful scents.
The stunning, silhouette-adorned were unveiled to us in the very βBridgertonβ setting of Henryβs Townhouse itself, in Londonβs Marylebone. The townhouse is a stunning Listed building, available for hire/rental, and sleeping up to 14. Renovated to the highest standard, with all mod cons but literally like stepping back in time when you cross the threshold, this former home of Jane Austenβs favoured brother Henry is one fabulous venue. What a place from which to step into a carriage, to be whisked to a ball β or a wedding, perhapsβ¦?
The candles, meanwhile, have been created to flicker fetchingly and fragrantly in the venue β but also, to be enjoyed in the comfort of our own (probably slightly less fancy) homes. And we are certainly doing just that. Weβre currently enjoying Bohea, conjuring up the scent of 18th Century hothouses, with succulent figs and peaches steeped alongside Earl Grey-like bergamot.
Marylebone Blooms also invites us to take tea, a floral-fruity blend swirling with green tea and bergamot, lemon, and white flowers, hen given a citrus twist. There are gourmand delights to be had in Monsieur Halavantβs Pantry, while The Carriage Snug is a subtle aromatic cocktail of lavender, bergamot, rose, iris and vetiver, with the swagger of musk and leather.
The signature Henryβs Townhouse candle takes its inspo from the amber-scented Colognes of 18th Century society, its iris and sandalwood notes softened smoochily by a touch of vanilla. And as for The Loiterer? Think leather-bound books; this references the weekly periodical Henry Austen published, with scents of leather, suede, green violet leaf and earthy saffron.
The candles themselves, meanwhile, are packaged in beautiful white ceramic vessels adorned with different silhouettes, lined with shiny black ceramic that seamlessly blends with the black wax.
Flickeringly fabulous, extremely elegant, very long-burning β and while not inexpensive, you donβt need a dowry to indulge.
Weβre playing a fun and imaginative game, matching candle scents to βBridgertonβ characters. Almost making up for the deep sadness of having finished Series Twoβ¦
