Fab Find of the Week: Gaia Skincare newness

From the get-go, we’ve been fans of Gaia Skincare. A proudly British brand, the products are born out of Gaia’s ‘home’ at Boringdon Hall, in Devon, where they are used by this award-winning spa’s truly excellent therapists.

The range really began with bodycare, and has gradually grown to include skincare for our faces. Now, with the launch of three new complexion treats, they’ve got every step in our regimes covered – and we’re thoroughly enjoying each one of these three innovations.

GAIA Crystal Cleansing Oil/£32 for 150ml. There’s nothing like a cleansing oil for a deep clean, we reckon. Massage well into nooks and crannies, to dislodge product build-up – and then, in the case of this emulsifying oil, add water so that it swishes clean away. Pomegranate and Abyssinian oils hydrate as it cleanses, while subtly fragrant extracts of chamomile, rose and hibiscus offer anti-inflammatory and antioxidant benefits, making this a total pleasure to use.

GAIA Purifying Toner/£26 for 150ml. The word ‘purifying’ made us worry this might not be suitable for our touchy, on-the-dry-side complexion – but in fact, this is super-soothing, with hydrating neroli water, witch hazel, plus rose and lemon verbena waters, to calm redness. It gently removes the last traces of anything on the face and is gentle enough to use around the eyes, on those pesky flecks of mascara that are sometimes left behind. We didn’t think we were ‘toner people’. Now we are.

GAIA SPF 50+ Daily Moisturiser/£35 for 50ml. This, meanwhile, is the absolute star of this new trio: a truly pleasurable daily sunscreen which we’ll continue to wear, as summer segues into autumn. It’s properly moisturising without feeling heavy – we didn’t feel we needed to use a separate moisturiser underneath. It blends super-easily, and doesn’t leave a white cast to skin. Unlike many of the Gaia Skincare products, there are some synthetics in there – including a chemical sunscreen, now deemed by experts essential to sit alongside physical sunsblocking ingredients, in order to offer broad spectrum protection against blue light from our screens.

Gorgeous work, GAIA.
