Fab Find of the Week: Otis Batterbee x Caroline Barnes make-up brush set
We bumped into the lovely make-up artist Caroline Barnes at a recent press day for Pure PR (who had savvily invited a few βFriends of Pureβ, to be part of the event) β and this collection of brushes fair stole our heart.
Born from a yearβs research, theyβve been co-created with Otis Batterbee, a veritable brushmeister whose clever Double-Ended Brush we recently featured here. But this chic, all-vegan, beautifully-made set features every brush that you could ever need β yet none that are superfluous to requirements. And weβve been absolutely loving the flawless finish they deliver.
Some stand-out brushes in the line-up includeβ¦
The 01 Brush (far left) β if you hate the way that your usual foundation brush wastefully absorbs more foundation than it sweeps onto skin, this is your new BFF: a flat brush that allows you to apply it exactly where you need it, and blend. Brilliant. (You can then blend with the 02 Brush, second from left β but youβll still get through foundation way more slowly.)
The 06 Brush (sixth from left) β itβs a myth that you need a huge, fluffy powder brush; itβs better when applied with a smaller tip, like this β you will never look βdustyβ.
The 07 Brush (seventh from left β getting the ideaβ¦?) Just fab for blending eyes to an utterly seamless finish.
The 11 Brush (second from right) β we canβt fault Carolineβs description, here: βThis is the perfect blending brush. Itβs firm, but the graduated bristles help to migrate the eye shadow around your eyes with ease. Use it to just apply a single colour over the entire lid or to soften and perfect as structured eye look.β
To be honest, though, theyβre all FAH-BU-LOUS. Only available as a set, in a stone-coloured vegan leather pouch β but in terms of a smooth finish and longer-lasting make-up, these are a beauty investment that we donβt think youβll ever regretβ¦
