Find of the Week: Age Defy+ by Cha Vøhtz skincare

We’re a little bit blown away, in the Beauty Bible office. (And for once it’s nothing to do with the recent tempestuous weather.)

Because a range has landed fully-formed on our desks which is such a quantum leap from this brand’s previous incarnation, pleasure factor-wise, that we’re quite taken aback.

That brand is Green People. Great workaday eco-stuff, from a pioneering company, with many, many products in the line that have impressed our Beauty Bible testers and won Awards, over the years. But this? Another dimension altogether. And one which you definitely need to explore.

CV’ is the monogram of Charlotte – or ‘Cha’, as we shall now think of her – Vøhtz, the beauty pioneer who was behind Green People and has now put herself firmly into the spotlight with this fantastic range, which is known as Age Defy+ by Cha Vøhtz. Charlotte (that’s her below) sat on the Health & Beauty Products Standards Committee (which Jo chaired for the Soil Association for nine years), and has incredibly deep knowledge of her subject.

Many of the existing products have had a seriously luxurious makeover – which has encouraged us to revisit them. (We’re loving the pump-design packaging for the mask, exfoliator and moisturisers, too. Efficient, and a pleasure to use.)

Other products are brand new. And what we’ve discovered is that quite a few products in this range are completely stellar. Designed for skins of 35+ (um, that’ll be us – and the rest), they all contain a sea holly extract and another from beech bud, or the ‘Everlasting Youth Tree’, which is said to said to boost hydration by 40%, as well as reducing wrinkles by 10%. What we can attest to is that the products leave skin looking seriously glow-y, while feeling super-quenched.

There are products for face, body (and a supplement) – but from our perspective, here are top three products which have nudged others off the shelf, in our beauty regime.

Age Defy Hydra Glow Sleep Mask/£32 for 50ml. This is our No.1 – and Jo, for one, is deeply addicted. It has ‘35 beauty-enhancing actives’, so we’re told, but the result is a wonderfully silky, plumptious mask which leaves skin feeling incredibly soft and is utter joy to apply.

Age Defy+ Soft Buff Skin Exfoliator/from £9 for 10ml ‘Try Me’ size. A really gentle but very effective skin-brightening exfolitator, kind even to our sensitive skins, formulated with teensy particles of bamboo, bentonite clay and papaya enzymes, which work to exfoliate by dissolving the protein bonds in the skin. Result? Illuminated, radiant skin.

Age Defy+ Line Eraser Serum/£23 for 10ml. 22 actives, here, and we like the instant firming action of this – it doesn’t feel tight, but it does work to minimise the appearance of lines and wrinkles, blurring them a bit. Longer-term? It will take up to four weeks to see permanent line-softening improvements, but this little tube will last longer than that, so you should be able to put it properly through its paces.

Explore the whole range here. (And we really think you should.)
