Crabtree & Evelyn new skincare and bodycare
Think of Crabtree & Evelyn, and what do you think? Pretty, flower-sprigged toiletries and equally pretty-pretty scents, weβre guessing. (Even though beauty insiders know theyβve always been about much more than that.)
But now, this treasured brand has taken a quantum leap forward, with a major visual overhaul and some real excitement in the form of new skincare and bodycare. (The skincare comprises a range of cleansers, thus far, but with more to come, too, weβre told.)
Among the body innovations are Buff + Invigorate Body Bar (Β£13.50), which exfoliates nicely as you wash, thanks to grains of bamboo stem, alongside apple fibre and blackcurrant seed oil.
The Cleanse + Awaken Shower Gel is something else weβre particularly taken with, with an invigorating aromatic earthy-floral scent, and apple AHAs to brighten skin as you wash.
Probably our favourite of all from the new-look line-up is a more traditional style C&E product, meanwhile: Evelyn Rose Velvet Body Melt, (Β£31.50 for 250ml), with its delectable whipped texture and a ravishing scent of rose that does indeed melt into skin (and keeps on giving, hours later).
Thereβs even a new strap-line: βBorn Curious. Grown Wild.β Weβre told it evokes the spirit of Crabtree & Evelynβs founder Cyrus Harvey, whose wanderlust and enthusiasm for nature infuse the brand.
Itβs all very millennial Instagram-friendly (if that matters to you) β but Crabtree & Evelyn havenβt thrown the baby out with the rose-scented bubble bath water, and thereβs still plenty to delight grown-ups here, while offering treats that should attract a new generation of C&E fans.
If youβve existing favourites, though, youβll have to hunt on the site because theyβre tucked away in a section called βThe Archivesβ, here. β and these, too, have a completely new look.
Still pretty. But not a floral sprig in sightβ¦
