This week, we’re delighted to introduce you to a really impressive new fragrance brand, whose philosophy reflects our own longstanding wellbeing focus, at Beauty Bible. Ataratma – founded by Indian-born, Dubai-based jewellery entrepreneur and retailer Ada Panday – is weaving together some fascinating elements in her new perfume house: neuroscience (with ingredients chosen through IFF’s Science of Wellness programme), and the ancient practice of Ayurveda.

Just as fascinatingly, Ada enlisted a collective of some of the world’s most respected ‘noses’, for Ataratma’s creations, including Paul Guerlain, Nelly Hachem-Ruiz, Fanny Bal, Caroline Dumur and Tanguy Guesnet. So, these fragrances may be rooted both in ancient wisdom and state-of-the-art research into the effect of aroma on the brain. Above all, though, they quite simply smell divine...

One lucky winner will be able to select two Ataratma fragrances (which are priced from £195-235 for 50ml eau de parfum) – and we hope the following descriptions have you dreaming of being that lucky scent-wearer…

Aikyam Rose – an exquisite, opulent rose, with geranium, spices, woods and fruits – ‘a harmony of abundance’, with Aikyam representing the belief that everything in the world is connected

Aroha Absolute – think: frankincense, drifting through sweet mango and strawberry, orange blossom and jasmine – contemplative, meditative, harmonious

Chakra Champaka – rich florals – orange, neroli, ylang-ylang, champaka garland fruity and citrus notes, to deliver a sense of joy and of wellbeing

Kama Carnal – as the name suggests, this one’s pure seduction, a sun-kissed masterpiece showcasing ylang-ylang, known for its sensuality, alongside honeyed gourmand notes

Orris Nirvana – powdery, floral, a skin-scent with almost a vintage sophistication, taking us on a meditative journey

Rati Patchouli – for patchouli-lovers (like us!), but this is a ‘clean’ version, blended with delectable mango and peach, alongside musky notes, taking its name from Rati, who symbolises the union of body and soul

Shakti Saffron – rich saffron – used for Ayurvedic healing – is balanced by spices, amber and mouthwatering cherry, in a grounding, confidence-boosting creation

Smitam Santalsmitam means smile, in Sanskrit, which tells you everything about this scent, with woody sandalwood, ginger and green cardamom focused around an intoxicating heart

Tonka Bala – an empowering gourmand leather: smoky, spicy, magnetic, inspired by a mantra to invoke strength, resilience and energy

Now, smelling really is believing, with Ataratma (and a great way to do that is via their Discovery Set, which showcases all the following nine fragrances and is priced £50, with a discount code worth £50 to redeem against a full size fragrance); find it here.
