Rhug Wild Beauty skincare

Meadow sweet gorse, heather, elderflower, dandelion, blue tansy, lemon balm, nettle leaf, hawthorn… Honey from bees that gather nectar from plants across the Rhug estate and water fresh from aquifers beneath the land.

Sound good enough to eat? Without a doubt but, in fact, these are some of the key natural ingredients in Rhug Wild Beauty, a new and exquisite organic skincare range, formulated with concentrated extracts of wild foraged, hand picked plants fortified with honey and minerals.

The range is the brainchild of Lord Newborough , the owner of this North Wales estate. A passionately organic farmer who sells Rhug produce internationally, he was ‘walking down the drive one day [when I] wondered what else on the estate can we do something with?’ The beauty concept filled that gap.

Formulated by leading experts in natural skincare, the Rhug Wild Beauty potions and lotions are made in Dorset and elegantly bottled in frosted glass, which is responsibly sourced and made by a Norfolk company. The pale mint green cardboard packaging is a pleasure in its own right.

You might wonder if the benefits of this premium range justify the high cost – with Purifying Cleansing Lotion/£55 for £120ml, and Protecting Day Crea/£95 for 60ml, for instance. That will become apparent later because we are carrying out in depth consumer research for Rhug Wild Beauty on a five-product daily skincare regime. While the details of the Special Report are of course confidential, the scores will be automatically flowed into the new round of Beauty Bible Awards. (For details on our Beauty Bible Special Reports, email us here.)

Meanwhile, we can tell you we’re enjoying the products; Jo singles out the Active Treatment Serum with Hyaluronic Acid/£120 for 30ml (but you do only need 2-3 drops per application so it should last for ages). Sarah likes the whole gentle regime and particularly the Protecting Day Cream, above.

So it’s a real case of ‘watch this space’ and meanwhile, if we’ve piqued your interest in this impeccably natural range, you can find more information by clicking below. (There is a travel kit for £85, which seems to us like a good introduction to the range, if you’re tempted.)
