Remove & Chill Nail Polish Eraser Cream & Reusable Pads

This is a whole rethink of how we remove our nail polish. It's a tube of rich, naturally-based cream that (don't ask us how) dissolves nail polish, used in tandem with some soft, black circular reusable pads.

We were a bit cynical. The Remove & Chill Nail Polish Eraser Cream, dispensed from its red tube, really doesn't smell like it will do anything at all. You massage a thick layer into nails and leave for up to three minutes before removing – which does take a bit more elbow grease than most liquid removers, but here's the thing: nails really benefit from using this. Maybe it's the massage (so good for blood flow), or maybe it's the very nourishing ingredients in the remover (argan, macadamia, almond oils, plus vitamin E), which leave nails actually looking buffed and healthy.

The pads are a bit of a revelation, too. They can be washed after use with soap and water up to 25 times (we reckon that's conservative), left to dry as you might a muslin cloth before popping them back in the silver tin. They also work with regular nail polish – we've tried. So: it does that little bit to cut down on disposables – and we're all for refills and reuse, wherever possible.

Through lockdown there's no question that our nails have become stronger, grown faster and look better than for some time. Is it because we've been avoiding moisture-sapping polishes and harsh removers? We've a hunch, yes.

And if this is part of the 'new nail normal', we're in.
