Zeg Vitamin D Body Cream
Experts are recommending that to boost our wellbeing, we need to get plenty of vitamin D right now. For those of us who have a garden, that hasnโt been a problem โ we canโt remember a lovelier or sunnier spring, and legs and arms have been on show. (Only to our partners, though!)
But if youโre stuck indoors โ perhaps in a flat, or just tied to kids and home-schooling, getting those rays can be difficult. (Ditto if you have darker skin, which absorbs less vitamin D.) In fact, according to the Department of Health, as much as 25% of the population has a vitamin D deficiency โ and scientists estimate that this figure is actually low and could be nearer 60%. Shabir Daya at Victoria Health long ago prescribed for us Life Extension Vitamin D3 1000iu, and we take it diligently. (There is also a 5000iu option.)
Supplementation is a great idea. But the skin, too, can absorb vitamin D (which isnโt strictly a vitamin, BTW โ though thatโs another story!) through topically applied products.
To be honest, weโve no idea of the dosage of Zeg Skincare Vitamin D Body Cream, which incorporates a form of vitamin D3 called Cholecalciferol. But weโd be using it even if it didnโt have that ingredient because this wonderful, luxurious body cream is proving wonderfully nourishing. Squalane and hyaluronic acid feature high on the ingredients list, hence its moisturising power.
In a pump-action apothecary glass bottle, it avoids one of the pitfalls of (mostly) natural body creams, which is that they are hard to smooth into skin. This sinks in beautifully, despite its richness, leaving skin velvety. The scent? (Because thatโs so important, right?)
