Beauty Bible Loves... Spots & Stripes Deodorants (for teens)
Teens + sweat = paranoia. We know so well that when hormones kick in and underarms start to play up, and teens and tweens are starting to find their feet socially, it can trigger lots of anxiety. (Which in turn makes for more sweat.)
Now, Spots & Stripes – started by mum-of-teens and our old magazine buddy Charlotte-Anne Fidler – is known for fun designs and gentle-yet-effective formulations that tackle greasy roots, troublesome breakouts, young, fast-changing skin – and fast-changing armpits.
Spots & Stripes already had 100% natural, aluminium-free deodorants in the range, but these two newbies come in a style that we really like: you massage a pea-sized amount under the arms, where the kaolin and corn starch effectively absorb sweat, shea butter softens sensitive armpit skin, and powerful botanical oils of peppermint, neem and naiouli battle odour-causing bacteria. After application, it morphs from a velvety cream to a powder finish. (And it can be reapplied, as necessary, before stressful events or sports activities.)
The tubes for this product are now eco-friendly, created from BPA-free aluminium. (So: no aluminium in the product, but it’s perfect – and safe – for packaging.)
Now, it’s fair to say that some teens and tweens we know might be cynical about whether this new-to-them way of applying deodorant could possibly be effective enough to ease their anxiety about whiffing or dripping.
