Nomad Noé NYC candles

NOMAD_NOE_MAIN.jpg

We’ve never spent more time at home. And boy, do we want to make sure it smells g-o-o-d. These certainly tick that box: a collection of beautifully graphic, gorgeously scented candles which have just landed from at Selfridges. (Nomad Noé may be based in New York, but the candles are created in the perfume capital of Grasse.)

Maybe you’ll choose yours by the name; after each candle’s flickered its last – which will be quite some time, because these last for 55 hours – they’ll make great pen or make-up brush holders. We rather fancy having ‘VISIONARY’ or ‘DREAMER’ or ‘POET’ on our desks. But maybe you’re a ‘REBEL’…?

The vegan candles are created from coconut and apricot wax, are phthalate-free and hand-poured. Here’s a run-down of the scents themselves – always the most important thing about any candles, good looks notwithstanding, and probably the real reason we should choose any of these. (You can click on any of the names to read more.)

DREAMER in London – cedarwood and vanilla, with hints of firewood and tobacco.

MUSE in Wyoming – a play on the wild rose, native to that state.

PIONEER in Tasmania – fresh, clean, beach-y, with coconut, sea salt and a touch of laurel.

POET in Hangzhou – a white floral extravaganza, with tuberose, jasmine, gardenia and bamboo.

HERO in Niani – patchouli, amber, plus good-enough-to-eat notes of vanilla and toasted tonka beans.

VISIONARY in Esfahan – subtly spiced rosewater and saffron, promising ‘positive vibes for the mind and soul.’

REBEL in Bahia – radiant with neroli and bergamot, a cloud of incense drifting through.

It’s rare to find candles that smell as good as they look (or vice versa) – so: congrats to Nomad Noé on this magnificent seven.
