Beauty Bible Loves… Matière Première Neroli Oranger hand and bodycare

A little touch of luxury. A ray of sunshine, actually, on what is a somewhat grey day, for June. (It’s vests-ON again, here).

Matière Première is a fabulous fragrance brand, founded by perfumer Aurélien Guichard – as charming a ‘nose’ as we could ever wish to spend time with – who is unique in growing some of the ingredients for his fragrant creations on his own family farm, near Grasse. Think: rose, rose geranium, tuberose (whose harvest Jo travelled to the South of France to take part in, a couple of Augusts ago.)

This particular duo, however, is based around the flowers of the orange tree, a way to enjoy Matière Première Neroli Oranger fragrance – which is Jo’s summer favourite, from the range.

With beautiful, rich textures, this Hand and Body Wash and matching Hand and Body Cream are about as luxurious a way to wash and nourish the skin from neck to toe as it’s possible to get. And what we’d say is that while pricy, they’re amazing for fragrancing skin. You don’t even need a fragrance over the top, because these properly veil skin in the airy, light-filled sweetness of neroli flowers, with uplifting citrus for brightness, and a little flash of green, like crushing a leaf between your fingers. And it really lasts, on skin – perhaps even more than the fragrance itself, is our observation, because (certainly with the cream), it includes richly nourishing oils, in the cream – and fragrance and oil are very happy befellows. If skin’s dry, scent literally disappears into the ether.

These would make a wonderful gift, individually or together, for someone very special. (You have our permission to include yourself, here.)
