The #WFH trend is going nowhere. (As indeed a lot of us arenβt, right now. Rather a time for bunkering down, isnβt it?) But to us, #WFH also stands for βWafting From Homeβ, as we seek to ensure that our home environment smells lovely, since weβre spending so much time here.
So we want to introduce you to a new and lovely scented candle brand thatβs made it onto our radar. The inspiration for the founder of Malkia β raised with diplmat parents β is travel, with the idea that smells can transport us, and each candle has been researched βto respect and celebrate different cultures.β To date, Oman, the French Riviera (yes, please!), Iceland, Cuba and the Maldives have been captured in candle form, although the paraffin-free candles themselves are proudly hand-poured in England.
Our particular favourite is Oman-inspired Rose & Oud, pictured below, a fabulous waft of clove, orange, cinnamon, lashings of rose and some tuberose, on a smoky base of musk, woods, amber, incense, patchouli and vanilla. βImagine going for an evening stroll in one of SalΔlahβs souks, shopping for oud, frankincense and rose oil,β Malkia say.
