WIN PERS: two skincare sets (worth £249+ each) from the hot Parisian name

PERS is the name on beauty editors’ lips: a French dermatologist’s easy-to-follow, age-defying regime – and we’re delighted to have two sets to share with our Beauty Bible readers. (PS: Jo’s hooked.)

It takes a lot to get one of us to deviate from our (mostly natural, tried-and-trusted) skincare regimes. But a breakfast meeting with the talked-about dermatologist Dr. Antoni Calmon convinced Jo to give this range a go. On the strength of their chat – down-to-earth, all about giving skin the TLC it truly needs – she made the switch. Hold the front page: her bathroom shelf is now all-PERS.

Dr. Calmon is a French aesthetic doctor who favours natural, understated results, and who developed this simple four-step protocol after years of clinical work. It has four essential pillars: Protect, Enhance, Repair, and Stimulate. But what makes this different to many other derm brands we’ve encountered is that it embodies the notion that skincare should also offer sensory pleasure. And it really does: there’s a lovely light, powdery-pretty, almost ‘Mummy’s handbag’ scent to some of the products, while textures are and real joy. (And so is the fact that the price-tags aren’t the silly-money levels we see on many skincare ranges.) 

So, the two lucky winners of this PERS prize will receive…

PERS Day-Dissolving Radiance Cleansing Balm (normally £45 for 100ml) – interestingly (and chiming with our own philosophy), PERS put cleansing under the ‘PROTECT’ banner. A bliss-to-use 99.5% natural cleansing, creamy oil-balm, which melts grime and make-up, before swishing away.

PERS 10% Vitamin C Serum (£85 for 30ml) – this comes under ‘PROTECT’, with a generous dose of vitamin C, and – says Jo – ‘Is honestly the nicest serum I have EVER used.’ Great slip, sinks in fast, delivering instantly healthier-looking skin, formulated to boost collagen production and fight environmental stress, while targeting fine lines, wrinkles and dark spots.

The winner can choose from one of two brilliant moisturisers to ‘REPAIR’: PERS Rich Intense Moisturising Cream, luscious and comforting and just perfect for dry skins like Jo’s, formulated to be intensely nourishing and skin-quenching. Alternatively, you might choose PERS Light Hydrating Cream (£85 for 50ml), powered by a multi-molecular hyaluronic acid, among other ingredients and suitable for all skintypes.

PERS Lip & Cheeks Glow Balm (£29 for 5ml) – it not only nourishes but adds a teeny tint when activated by skin’s pH. A dab on lips for comfort, a dab on cheeks for its flattering effect – what a clever little thing. ‘ENHANCE’? Sure does.

There are other products in the range, not included, but which many PERS fans add in – including award-winning 0.3% Retinol Concentrate Serum, featuring an ingredient which previously Jo never got on with (think: redness, flaking, irritation). But via an every-other-night regime, alongside religious use of PERS SPF50+, she’s seeing a real improvements in fine lines and wrinkles. (Note: we feel uneasy offering retinol as a prize, since it’s a considered decision – but after chatting with Dr. Calmon, this retinol has – to her enormous surprise – converted Jo.)
